What Makes a Private Training Studio Different
Walking into a private training studio is a different experience from a crowded commercial gym — and the difference shows up in your results.
This category is about Legacy Del Mar itself: how the private training facility in Carmel Valley works, how semi-private sessions run, and what the VIP Access Pass includes. If you are deciding whether training here fits your routine, these four guides are the place to start.
Walking into a private training studio is a different experience from a crowded commercial gym — and the difference shows up in your results.
Semi-private training is one of the most popular ways our Del Mar and Solana Beach clients train — but it’s often misunderstood as a “group class.” It isn’t.
“VIP membership” is one of the most abused terms in the fitness industry. Most gyms slap a VIP label on their mid-tier plan, add a guest pass and a towel, and charge an extra $20 a month.
When Legacy Performance Institute opened its second location in Del Mar in June 2023, it wasn’t a copy-paste of the original San Diego gym.
What Makes a Private Training Studio Different explains how a private facility differs from a public gym: coached one-on-one or small-group sessions, no crowded floor, and no waiting for equipment. How Semi-Private Training Works at Legacy Del Mar walks through the small-group format.
The VIP Access Pass guide covers what pass members receive, including a personal key fob and 24/7 access, and the facility tour gives you a look around the space before you visit.
Read the private-studio article first if you are coming from a commercial gym and want to know what changes. If you already know you want coaching, the semi-private piece helps you decide between sharing sessions and training one-on-one. The VIP pass guide is useful if you plan to train on your own outside the regular 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM hours.
Legacy has coached clients since 2014 and is veteran-owned. The tour article is a good companion before your first visit, so the layout feels familiar when you arrive.
The clearest way to see whether the studio fits is to visit. Legacy Del Mar is at 12264 El Camino Real, Suite 60, in El Camino Tower, and serves Del Mar, Solana Beach, Torrey Pines, Encinitas, and nearby neighborhoods. Your first consultation and introductory session with a coach are free, and you do not need a membership to train with a coach. Ask about the VIP Access Pass during your visit if round-the-clock access matters to you.
No. Coaching is booked directly with the coach you choose, and no membership or pass is required. The pass adds a personal key fob and 24/7 access for training on your own.
Ages 13 to 18 train in one-on-one sessions only. Children under 13 are not permitted on the training floor, except for supervised boxing or MMA sessions in designated areas.
Your first consultation and introductory session with a Legacy coach is free, with no obligation. Tell us about your goals and we will match you with the right coach.
