Hey! I’m Landon, a Strength, Nutrition and MMA Coach at Legacy Performance Institute in Del Mar. I aim to utilize my education and experience to lead individuals through a profound lifestyle transformation.
By wholeheartedly dedicating myself to clients, I empower them to attain tangible and sustainable results far beyond their expectations. With over eight years of professional experience in strength training and nutrition coaching, combined with more than twenty years in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), I’ve trained hundreds of clients with a wide range of physical capabilities. Nearly six of those years were spent in commercial gyms, where I served as a Fitness Manager at 24 Hour Fitness and a Master Trainer at Fit Athletic Club.
Additionally, I’ve been featured in publications such as SDVoyager, CanvasRebel, and Bold Journey as a rising star in Del Mar.

Strength and performance training uses progressive overload on the major lifts and athletic movements to build force, power and resilience. It serves anyone who wants to be stronger, from a first barbell squat to a competitive athlete preparing for a season.
Lifts are taught and reviewed first, because a clean pattern makes heavier weight safer and more productive.
Weights, sets and reps are laid out across weeks, with built-in lighter weeks, so strength climbs without constant plateaus or burnout.
For athletes, the program is matched to the demands and calendar of the sport: strength in the off-season, power and maintenance as competition nears.
Every session is logged, so you can see what you lifted last month and what the next target is.
Every plan is built around the individual, so your coach will adjust this. As a general shape, the first four weeks of strength & performance coaching tend to run like this.
Squat, hinge, press and pull patterns are taught and assessed with light weight.
Sets and reps are set at manageable loads, and you start logging each session.
Small weight or rep increases are added where technique allows.
A planned lighter week lets the body adapt. Then your numbers are reviewed and the next block begins.
Boxing and combat training teaches striking, footwork, defense and conditioning, either as a skill to pursue or as one of the hardest cardiovascular workouts available. Sessions combine technique, pad work and bag rounds with the stamina and coordination that carry over to any sport.
Fundamentals first. Stance, footwork, guard and basic punches are drilled until they are clean, before speed and power are layered on.
Pad work and rounds. Timed rounds on pads and bags build rhythm, accuracy, endurance and the ability to stay relaxed under effort.
Nutrition coaching turns training goals into eating habits that are specific enough to work and flexible enough to survive a normal week. It covers energy intake, protein, food choices, timing and the routines around them, and it is paired with training so the two support each other.
An honest food review. You and your coach look at what you actually eat on a typical week, including the meals that are hard to change, before anything is prescribed.
Targets you can act on. Guidance is turned into simple daily targets and swaps, not a rigid plan that falls apart the first time you eat out.

Yes, when it is coached. A good coach starts with a movement assessment, teaches the patterns with light loads, and progresses only when your technique is solid. Tell your coach about any injuries or medical conditions at your introduction.
Most new lifters add weight within the first few weeks because technique and coordination improve quickly. After that, progress follows a plan of gradual loading, rest and consistency.
