Hi San Diego! I’m Sofia Beyer, a Certified Personal Trainer at Legacy Performance Institute in Del Mar. With over 16 years of experience in fitness, including competitive athletics, military training, and bodybuilding, I bring a unique and well-rounded perspective to helping clients achieve their goals.
My fitness journey has been a continuous evolution. In recent years, I’ve embraced yoga to balance the intensity of my training. This practice introduced me to mindfulness and reflection, which have become integral to my fitness philosophy. I believe in a holistic approach that combines strength, endurance, and flexibility with mental clarity for optimal well-being.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from UCLA, where I graduated summa cum laude. My education provided me with valuable insights into how societal structures and personal identity can influence health and fitness decisions. This foundation allows me to take a personalized, evidence-based approach to fitness, helping my clients transform mentally, physically, and emotionally.
I believe in:
Whether you’re just starting your fitness journey or you’re an experienced athlete, I’m here to empower you. Together, we’ll:

Certifications show what a coach has been tested on. They do not replace a conversation, so use your free introduction to ask Sofia how that training shapes the way they coach.
Beyond certifications, the profile highlights: 5+ years of experience.
Every coach at Legacy works independently inside the facility, which means you choose the coach, and the coach builds the program. No membership is required to train with a coach. Coaching is booked directly with the coach you choose.

Holistic and mindset coaching treats training as one part of a larger system that also includes sleep, stress, habits and the way you talk to yourself about progress. The aim is a routine you can keep up for years, not a six-week sprint that ends when motivation does.
The first conversation covers what you want your days to feel like, not only what you want your body to look like, and the program is built to serve both.
Coaching focuses on small, repeatable actions with clear triggers, so showing up becomes the default instead of a daily negotiation.
Intensity is matched to your stress and sleep that week. Hard weeks and easy weeks are planned, not guessed.
Regular check-ins keep you honest about what is working, and setbacks are treated as information to adjust around.
Every plan is built around the individual, so your coach will adjust this. As a general shape, the first four weeks of holistic & mindset coaching tend to run like this.
A conversation about what you want and what has gotten in the way before. Sessions begin gently so the first weeks feel doable.
Two or three small habits are chosen and attached to your existing routine, so they do not rely on willpower.
A busy or tired day shows what the plan can handle. Your coach adjusts the plan, not your expectations of yourself.
You look at what changed in energy, strength and consistency, and the next month is set from that.

The best test is the free introduction: if the plan makes sense to you, you have your answer.
No. Fitness coaches work on training, habits and accountability. They are not licensed mental health providers, and a good coach will say so and suggest a qualified professional when something is outside coaching scope.
That is the problem this style of coaching is built for. Your coach looks at why momentum drops, then shrinks the plan and adds accountability until consistency returns.
Your first introduction and session are free. Tell us a little about your goals and we will set it up with Sofia Beyer at Del Mar.
