Hello! My name is Kasra “Kaz” Iranpour and I am a certified strength, conditioning, and rehab specialist at Legacy San Diego who specializes in rehab, functional strength training, and fat loss. I am originally from the Bay Area, born and raised in a small town of Martinez. I received my Bachelors in Health science, followed by my Masters of Exercise Physiology at San Jose State University. Part of my Masters program I created a lower back rehabilitation program to rehab numerous clients including myself who has suffered from severe herniated discs (L4-L5, L5-S1), and that ultimately sparked my passion for rehabilitation to supplement my training. I have been training for over 12 years and obtained certifications including the certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) with the NSCA, Certified Personal Trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist, and Performance Enhancing Specialist from NASM.
With over 12 years of experience in strength training, sports performance, and rehabilitative coaching, I provide high-level, fully individualized training, nutrition, and recovery programs for clients. I have worked with individuals ranging from high school athletes to Silicon Valley’s top professionals to retired individuals looking to improve their functional lifestyle. My approach blends evidence-based methods with practical lifestyle coaching, offering in-person sessions across the Bay Area as well as complete online programming for remote clients. I plan to bring what I provided in the Bay Area to the beautiful city of San Diego.
I’ve coached college-bound athletes in sport-specific development, hypertrophy, mobility, and SPARQ metrics, while also serving as a trusted performance coach for doctors, nurses, surgeons, lawyers, CEOs, and other elite professionals. Additionally, I work extensively with elderly clients, helping them regain strength, improve balance, reduce pain, and maintain independence through safe, structured training tailored to their needs.
Every training program is fully customized based on each client’s biomechanics, lifestyle, fitness goals, and injury history — supported by detailed biometric assessments including body fat percentage, posture analysis, blood pressure, and body measurements. Whether you’re recovering from injury, building muscle, losing fat, improving functional movement, or training for performance, my goal is to help you move better, train smarter, and achieve long-term health and strength. If you’re ready to train with purpose, recover with intention, and elevate your performance, let’s get to work!

Certifications show what a coach has been tested on. They do not replace a conversation, so use your free introduction to ask Kasra how that training shapes the way they coach.

Strength and performance training uses progressive overload on the major lifts and athletic movements to build force, power and resilience. It serves anyone who wants to be stronger, from a first barbell squat to a competitive athlete preparing for a season.
Lifts are taught and reviewed first, because a clean pattern makes heavier weight safer and more productive.
Weights, sets and reps are laid out across weeks, with built-in lighter weeks, so strength climbs without constant plateaus or burnout.
For athletes, the program is matched to the demands and calendar of the sport: strength in the off-season, power and maintenance as competition nears.
Every session is logged, so you can see what you lifted last month and what the next target is.
Every plan is built around the individual, so your coach will adjust this. As a general shape, the first four weeks of strength & performance coaching tend to run like this.
Squat, hinge, press and pull patterns are taught and assessed with light weight.
Sets and reps are set at manageable loads, and you start logging each session.
Small weight or rep increases are added where technique allows.
A planned lighter week lets the body adapt. Then your numbers are reviewed and the next block begins.
Corrective exercise looks at how you move, finds the patterns that are limited, compensated or painful, and builds a program of mobility, activation and strengthening to improve them. It is training, not medical treatment, and good coaches coordinate with your physician or physical therapist when an injury is involved.
A movement assessment. Posture, range of motion and basic movement patterns are screened so the plan targets what is actually limiting you.
Targeted mobility and activation. Short, specific drills open restricted areas and wake up underused muscles before and between strength work.

Yes, when it is coached. A good coach starts with a movement assessment, teaches the patterns with light loads, and progresses only when your technique is solid. Tell your coach about any injuries or medical conditions at your introduction.
Most new lifters add weight within the first few weeks because technique and coordination improve quickly. After that, progress follows a plan of gradual loading, rest and consistency.
Your first introduction and session are free. Tell us a little about your goals and we will set it up with Kasra Iranpour at San Diego.
