In Their Words

William, on coaching.

Hey everyone, I'm Will! Since 2017, I have self coached my own bodybuilding journey including 3 successful competition preps. Bodybuilding is my true passion and I have completely dedicated myself to chasing progression and self-researching nonstop over the years, taking no voluntary breaks and allowing nothing to get in my way. Through countless massing and cutting phases, I've transformed myself from a scrawny 115lb distance runner into what you see today. At my recent bodybuilding competition, I competed in both Classic Physique and Men's Physique, winning the Men's Physique Overall title, 1st in Classic Physique Open Class B, and 2nd Overall in the Classic Physique.

Throughout the years I have casually coached and written programs for people around me and since 2022 I have been officially training all kinds of clients both in person and online. I have always been extremely detail oriented and consider any and all factors when it comes to one's progress in bodybuilding and fitness, and with my focus on helping others the past few years, I have further expanded my knowledge and adaptability to cater to clients of all kinds of backgrounds and conditions. When you transform your body, everything else follows — mobility, mindset, longevity. That's not a bonus. That's the point.

Training With William

Body Recomposition at Legacy.

Body recomposition is the goal of losing fat and building or keeping muscle at the same time, so the scale matters less than what the body is made of. It is slower to read on a bathroom scale and more durable than a crash diet, because the training signal that tells the body to keep muscle stays on while energy intake is managed.

01

A baseline first

Your coach records starting measurements, movement quality, training history and current eating habits, so progress is compared with your own numbers rather than a generic target.

02

Resistance training as the engine

Programs are built around progressive strength work for the major muscle groups, with the load, volume and rest chosen for your experience level and schedule.

03

Nutrition that fits your life

Food guidance is practical: protein targets, meal timing that matches your day, and adjustments when progress stalls. Coaches work within their scope and refer out for medical nutrition needs.

04

Check-ins and adjustments

Measurements, photos, training logs and how you feel are reviewed on a schedule, and the plan changes when the data says it should.

Who body recomposition coaching suits
  • People who want to lose fat without losing the muscle they have
  • Lifters who have plateaued and want a structured approach
  • Anyone who has dieted before and regained the weight
  • Newer trainees who want shape and strength, not just a lower number on a scale
A typical first month

Every plan is built around the individual, so your coach will adjust this. As a general shape, the first four weeks of body recomposition coaching tend to run like this.

01

Week 1: Baseline

Measurements, photos, a movement screen and a look at how you eat and sleep. The first sessions teach the main lifts with moderate loads.

02

Week 2: Build the routine

Training days settle into a pattern you can keep. Protein and meal structure get attention before anything fancy.

03

Week 3: Add load

Weights and reps start to climb as technique holds. You begin to see which habits are helping and which are in the way.

04

Week 4: Review

Numbers are compared with week one, what worked is kept, and the plan for the next block is set.

Common mistakes this coaching fixes
  • Cutting calories so hard that muscle goes with the fat
  • Doing only cardio and skipping resistance training
  • Changing the plan every week before it has time to work
